“I just want the youth to understand no matter how bad their situation they cant let it stop them from success,” says a kid who lost both parents by the age of 13 and paints a picture with his music to enlighten listeners on how they can’t let life get the best of them.
Raised in a small town at the bottom of the map, this kid has a long way to climb before he can reach the top. As a young man trying to pursue a passion for music, Jordan Perryman (also known as Pikasso) had very little opportunity in his home town of Mobile Alabama. After dealing with a local independent label for about 6 months with many promises but no progress, he founded his own label, Fulltime Hustla Entertainment, in 2008.
Not only does Pikasso rap but he also covers every aspect of a major label with help from his brothers, sisters, and a loyal childhood friend. He does videography, graphic design, production, and handles all the copyrights and legal paperwork of his company. As his name grew, producers from Canada, Boston, Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, and many other states joined Pikasso in his journey by sending countless tracks to help illustrate his story.
After releasing two mixtapes locally, Pikasso has gained a buzz that’s carried him into a number of great musical situations. In July of 2011 Pikasso linked up with home-town artist Rich Boy and the two released a single together entitled, “Zone’n,” helping to expand the buzz of this young artist. Pikasso and his team quickly flew out to Houston, Texas to shoot the music video “Gwap” for Rich Boy and Trae tha Truth. While in Houston, he met Waka Flocka Flame and Lupe Fiasco, who co-signed the young artist and his Fulltime Hustla movement.
Now with substantial backing and a rapidly growing buzz, Pikasso is working on his first LP. “Perfect Timing” doesn’t have a release date yet, but it is anticipated throughout the southern region and is predicted to be a huge success thanks to a promo tour in the making, sure to “bullet proof” his movement.
